PRESS RELEASES FOR SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2014

During the week of September 8 through September 14 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,364 calls for service throughout the community. 
Citizens with information on the following crimes or any criminal activity in Calvert County who wish to report it anonymously can now access the Calvert County Crime Solvers link through the Sheriff’s Office website.  
Go to http://www.co.cal.md.us/residents/safety/law/sheriff/ and click on the Crime Solvers link to leave an anonymous tip on-line.  Information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect could result in a $1,000 reward.
Burglary Case #14-51272:
On September 9 at 11:20 a.m. DFC M. Velasquez arrested Michael Peter Trybus, 18, of Lusby, and charged him with one count each of first, third and fourth degree burglary.  Trybus was observed by a neighbor of a home on Buckskin Court in Lusby hanging around the outside of the home and then could be seen inside the house.  DFC Velasquez responded to the call and saw a suspect matching the description given running down the street.  He stopped and made contact with the suspect, who was then identified as Trybus.  The homeowner arrived and stated that nothing appeared to be missing.

CDS Violation Case #14-51771:
On September 11 at 11:00 p.m. Dep. M. Trigg observed a vehicle drifting in and out of its lane while traveling northbound on Md. Rt. 4 near Traskers Blvd. and conducted a traffic stop at Auto Drive.  He found the driver, Eugene Holmes, Jr., 37 of Upper Marlboro, to be in possession of suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.  He was charged with possession of K2/Spice (Scooby Snax) and rolling papers.

CDS Violation Case #14-51984:
On September 12 at 10:26 p.m. Dep. C. Idol was patrolling the Prince Frederick Food Lion parking lot when a minivan, driving at a high rate of speed, drove toward him in the officer’s lane, then swerved back into the correct travel lane and passed the officer.  Idol conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle behind the Prince Frederick Library on Costley Way.  The driver, Christopher Dylan Hinds, 19 of Huntingtown, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; a smoking device.

Theft Case #14-52100:
Someone stole a ten foot aluminum boat from the boat rack at Lake Lariat in Lusby between July 15 and August 15.  The boat has a black saw tooth pattern and the initials KM painted on the underside.  It is valued at $500.  Dep. J. Buck is investigating.
Theft Case #14-52108:
A black Trail Star trailer, measuring 4 feet by 8 feet with a green and black Honda Foreman 500 All-Terrain Vehicle on it, was stolen from the driveway of a home in the 11600 block of Big Sandy Run Road in Lusby.  The trailer and ATV are valued at $4,900.  The trailer has a Virginia license plate.  Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC G. Attempted Burglary Case #14-52233:
Cpl. M. Naecker is investigating an attempted burglary at a home in the 3300 block of Woodridge Avenue in Port Republic that occurred between August 29 and September 13.  Someone cut the screens on the home’s windows and broke a door latch on the front porch.  It does not appear that entry was made into the home or that anything was stolen.
