PRESS RELEASES FOR OCTOBER 13TH, 2015

During the week of October 5 through October 12 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,530 calls for service throughout the community. 
Citizens with information on the following crimes or any criminal activity in Calvert County who wish to report it anonymously can now access the Calvert County Crime Solvers link through the Sheriff’s Office website.  
Go to http://www.co.cal.md.us/residents/safety/law/sheriff/ and click on the Crime Solvers link to leave an anonymous tip on-line, or call 410-535-2880.  Information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect could result in a $1,000 reward.

Burglary Case #15-55333
Deputy B. Schaefer responded to Hallowing Lane in Prince Frederick for a home burglary, which occurred sometime between 3:00 pm on October 10 and 4:00 pm on October 11.  Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Schaefer.

Deputy A. Woodford responded to Biltmore Court in Huntingtown for a home burglary, which occurred between the hours of 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm on October 9.  A Play Station 4 video gaming system, controller and five (5) video games were stolen.  The case is being investigated by Deputy Woodford.

Sometime between August 2015 and October, someone entered an apartment on Asbury Circle in Solomons and removed silverware and money.  Deputy G. Gott is investigating.

Burglary Case #15-54075
Deputy R. Weems responded to the report of a forced burglary of a shed on Holiday Drive in Solomons.  This took place between October 2 - October 5, when multiple pieces of lawn equipment were stolen.  This case is still being investigated by Deputy Weems.

CDS Violation Case #15-55322
On October 11 while on routine patrol, Deputy C. Ward observed a vehicle travelling in an unsafe manner westbound on Chesapeake Beach Road, Chesapeake Beach.  He determined the driver, Page Jones, Jr., 39, of Sunderland to be driving under the influence of PCP.  He was arrested for CDS possession-not marijuana (PCP) and possession of paraphernalia (glass vile) and transported to the Detention Center by Deputy Ward.

CDS Violation Case #15-54699
On October 8, while Deputy M. Trigg was responding to a trespassing call on Rope Knot Road in Lusby, he discovered  Eric Peterson, 25, of Lusby, to be in possession of CDS-Poss Not Marijuana (Alprazolam) and paraphernalia (cut straw).  He was arrested and transported to the Detention Center.

CDS Violation Case #15-54250
On October 5 while being processed at the Detention Center for an unrelated charge, Tuqwa Muhammad, 25, of Prince Frederick was found to be in possession of Marijuana and paraphernalia.  He was charged by Deputy C. Idol for CDS possession of marijuana while confined and possession of paraphernalia (packaging).

Destruction of Property Case #15-54986
Deputy D. Clark responded to the report of bullet holes that damaged a building owned by SMECO off of Broomes Island Road, Port Republic.  This incident took place sometime between October 1 - 9.  Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Clark.  The investigation is continuing.

Deputy A. Curtin responded to the report of a broken vehicle window that happened during the overnight hours of October 6 -7 on West Chesapeake Beach Road in Dunkirk.

Deputy J. Migliaccio was called to the area of 9th Street and Bay Avenue in North Beach for the complaint of a scratched vehicle.  This incident took place some time between October 3 - 4.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Migliaccio.

Motor Vehicle Theft Case #15-54684
Deputy W. Durner responded to Matthew Drive in Huntingtown for the report of a stolen (unlocked) motor vehicle, which took place between 5:30 pm on October 7 - and 6:40 am on October 8.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Durner.

Theft Case #15-55368
Deputy C. Idol responded to the report of a theft from vehicle that occurred in the parking lot of the Calvert Cliffs State Park on October 11 between the hours of 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.  A purse, credit cards, driver license, cell phone and money were stolen.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Deputy Idol.

Theft Case #15-55359
On October 11 Deputy A. Ostazeski responded to a ‘theft in progress’ at the Prince Frederick Walmart.  It was determined Yuliya Shapovalenko, 27, of Huntingtown was in possession of stolen property and ultimately charged with theft Scheme of $1,000 to $10,000.  She was taken to the Detention Center and processed accordingly.

Theft Case #15-54897
On October 9, Deputy D. Clark was called to the Calvert Memorial Hospital for the report of a theft of batteries and charges from their trailers located in the parking lot.  It is unknown when the theft took place.

Deputy A. Woodford responded to Flint Hill Road in Owings for the report of saddles, bridals and riding boots stolen from a horse trailer located on the victim’s property.  The theft is believed to have taken place between 9:00 am on October 5 and 2:00 pm on October 6.  Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Woodford who is continuing the investigation.

Theft Case #15-54426
October 6, Deputy C. Ward responded to a ‘theft in progress’ occurring at the Dunkirk Giant on Town Center Blvd.  When he arrived the suspects had already fled the area and were located in the parking lot of the Dunkirk Safeway, with a shopping cart full of stolen items.  Zachary Sullivan, 23, of Huntingtown and Robert Bowles, 25, of Chesapeake Beach were both arrested and charged with two (2) counts of theft under $1,000 for the theft at Giant and Safeway stores.  Robert Bowles had an additional charge of possession of paraphernalia.

Theft Case #15-54356
On October 6 Deputy C. Ward was dispatched to Dunkirk Walmart for a shoplifter in custody.  John Michael Sullivan, 21, of Sunderland was issued a Criminal Citation for theft under $100 and released on the scene.

Theft Case #15-54299
On October 6, Deputy C. Idol responded to a report of theft from an unlocked vehicle on Golden Russet Drive in Dunkirk.  The theft of money and a Cannon Dash Camera took place in the overnight hours.

Deputy J. Migliaccio responded to a complaint of a theft from auto on Amber Way in Owings.  The theft of money took place during the nighttime hours on October 4.
