PRESS RELEASES FOR NOVEMBER 23RD, 2015

During the week of November 16 through November 22 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,335 calls for service throughout the community.

CDS Violation Case #15-61815:
On November 16, while Deputy T. Mohler was responding to a check welfare call on Hardesty Road, Sunderland, he made contact with a driver, Kevin Brannon, 24, from Mount Airy.  He observed paraphernalia in plain view and transported him to the Detention Center where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (syringe, spoon).

Disorderly Conduct Case #15-62135:
On November 17 Deputy T. Buckler was investigating a hit and run accident on Harbor Road in Chesapeake Beach.  While gathering information, Garrett Mashino, 20, of Prince Frederick, became disorderly.  He was charged and arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Motor Vehicle Theft Case #15-61870:
On November 16, Deputy A. Woodford responded to a report of a stolen vehicle which took place overnight on Hampton Way in Owings. The vehicle was located several hours later on Armory Road, north of Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Robbery Case #15-62128:
On November 17, around 9:30pm, Deputy T. Buckler was dispatched to the Peking Inn liquor store on East Chesapeake Beach Road, North Beach, for a robbery which had just taken place.    The suspects made off with a bottle of alcohol and several bottles were broken during the altercation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Theft Case #15-62586:
On November 20 Deputy A. Ostazeski responded to Stafford Road, Prince Frederick, for a report of two (2) propane tanks that were stolen from the victim’s yard.  The theft took place sometime between October 30 - November 20.

Theft Case #15-62464:
On November 19 Deputy N. Barger was dispatched to the Giant grocery store on Rousby Hall Road, Lusby, for the report of a shoplifter.  Around 3:30pm the suspect was observed leaving the store with containers of crabmeat and then fled the area in a vehicle. 

Theft Case #15-62275:
On November 18 Deputy R. Kreps was dispatched to a home on Egret Court, Prince Frederick, for the report of stolen mail.  The theft had taken place sometime between November 4 - 18. 

Theft Case #15-62043:
On November 17 Deputy A. Woodford responded to Fox Run Liquors on North Solomons Island Road, Prince Frederick for the report of a shoplifting.   The suspect removed a bottle of alcohol and was able to flee the scene.
