PRESS RELEASES FOR NOVEMBER 30TH, 2015

During the week of November 23 through November 29 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,260 calls for service throughout the community.

CDS Violation Case #15-63923:
On November 27 Deputy N. Barger conducted a traffic stop on Calvert Beach Road in St. Leonard.  The occupants of the vehicle were both found to be in possession of CDS.  Taqwa Muhammad, 25, of Prince Frederick was charged with distribution and possession of cocaine and marijuana.  Aaron Watson, 29, of Waldorf, MD was charged with distribution and possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.  They were both transported to the Detention Center.

CDS Violation Case #15-63693:
On November 25 Deputy D. Clark conducted a traffic stop on Solomons Island Road, in Prince Frederick.  Kim Brady, 47, of Prince Frederick, was arrested for several driving offenses (DWI), as well as possession of Alprazolam.  She was taken to the Detention Center and processed accordingly.

CDS Violation Case #15-64027:
On November 27 Deputy S. Moran conducted a traffic stop on Parkers Creek Road; George Gerlach, 29, of Port Republic was arrested for multiple alcohol driving offenses and possession of paraphernalia.

Destruction of Property Case #15-62779:
On November 21 Deputy S. Rediker responded to Sedwick Court, St. Leonard, for the report of a destruction of property.  A suspect(s) scratched the victim’s vehicle between the hours of 9:00pm - 12:30am with an unknown object.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Disorderly Conduct Case #15-63724:
On November 26, while Deputy R. Wilson was assisting an injured person in the parking lot of the Green Turtle restaurant in Prince Frederick, Andrew Lloyd, 24, of Lusby and John Jumalon, 26, of Riva, MD both became disorderly.  Andrew Lloyd was charged with disorderly conduct, fail to obey lawful order, trespassing, resisting arrest, obstruction and hindering an arrest; John Jumalon was charged with disorderly conduct.  They were both transported to the Detention Center for processing.

Fleeing & Eluding Case #15-63191:
On November 23, while Deputy T. Holt was patrolling the area of Rousby Hall Road/HG Trueman Road in Lusby, he observed a vehicle driving in an unsafe manner.  While attempting to conduct a traffic stop, the driver, Terrence Brooks, 34, of Huntingtown, and passenger, Ali As-Siddiq, 29, of Prince George, VA, fled the scene.  After the vehicle was successfully brought to a stop, Terrence Brooks and Ali As-Siddiq were charged with numerous traffic offenses, including attempt to elude police by failing to stop.

Motor Vehicle Theft Case #15-63867:
On November 26 Deputy D. Clark responded to Terrace Drive in Prince Frederick for the report of a vehicle theft.  It is estimated to have taken place at approximately 8:30pm that evening and was later found unlocked with the keys in the ignition.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Theft Case #15-63901:
On November 27 Deputy C. Callison responded to Joanna Court, Prince Frederick, for the report of a vehicle that was stolen overnight.  The vehicle had been left unlocked, with the keys in the ignition.  The vehicle was located approximately 8:00am the next morning at the Chapline Village Senior Apartments in Prince Frederick.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Theft Case #15-63474:
On November 24 Deputy P. Mosely responded to the report of a flute, which had been stolen from the Dowell Elementary School, on the previous day.  Anyone who may have information on this case is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Theft Case #15-63396:
Deputy J. Wahlgren responded to Dunkirk Supply, located on Skinners Turn Road in Owings, for the report of a flashlight which was stolen on November 19.

Theft Case #15-63959:
On November 27 Deputy D. Naughton responded to Williams Wharf Road, St. Leonard, for a theft call.  Sometime between 12:00pm on November 10 and 12:00pm on November 13 someone removed registration plates from a vehicle, which was parked in the victim’s driveway.

Theft Case #15-64122:
On November 28 Deputy C. Callison responded to Breezy Point Road in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a stolen Confederate flag.  Sometime between 9:00pm on November 27 and 12:40pm on November 28, the flag was removed from a flagpole in his yard.

Theft Case #15-64110:
Deputy P. Aurich was dispatched to St. Andrews Drive, Chesapeake Beach, for the report of stolen registration plates.  Sometime on or before November 7, an unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked garage and removed both tags from their vehicle.

Theft Case #15-63936:
On November 27 Deputy C. Callison responded to Dalrymple Road in Chesapeake Beach for the report of stolen registration plates.  The theft took place sometime between November 26 - 27; it is unclear where the theft took place. 

Robbery Case #15-64266:
On November 29 Deputy Y. Bortchevsky responded to the report of a robbery which took place between 1:30am - 2:11am on Walnut Creek Road in Huntingtown.  Three (3) unknown male suspects physically assaulted and robbed the victim of his iPhone 6 and sneakers, while he was in his vehicle.  A laptop computer was also stolen from another vehicle that was at the residence.   Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
