NATIONAL CORRECTIONAL OFFICER AND EMPLOYEES WEEK

May 7th to May 13th, 2017 is recognized as National Correctional Officer and Employees Week.  The week started with employees of the Sheriff’s Office and the Detention Center coming together for the annual joint flag raising ceremony.  On Tuesday May 8th the Board of County Commissioners for Calvert County continued the ceremonies when they recognized the uniform and civilian staff of the Calvert County Detention Center.  Major Reece accepted the proclamation on behalf of the entire staff and stated, “I am honored and privileged to work alongside such a great group of officers and staff”.  The Detention Center is managed by 87 loyal and dedicated employees who perform the necessary 24/7 functions for the safety and security of the facility.  CFC David Cook was recognized as the Officer of the Year for 2016.
